The Full Mountie Pass is a combination of the Mustang and Mohawk passes. Travellers can start the tour with either the Mustang or Mohawk portions. The following is a possible example of a tour starting with the Mustang portion. Note: The Mega Moose pass does not include transport between Toronto and Vancouver or vice versa. We suggest you fly to connect between cities.
Day: 1 | Location: VANCOUVER TO TOFINO
Our journey begins with a scenic ferry ride to Vancouver Island. We’ll then head across the island to Pacific Rim National Park on the west coast, for our first glimpse of the beaches, battered coastline, and hundreds of islands. Tonight is the first of two in Tofino, a quaint little fishing village.
Day: 2 | Location: FREE DAY IN TOFINO
Today is your chance to enjoy all the activities that Tofino has to offer, like the full day whale watching/hot springs combination trip, sea kayaking or surfing (optional extra cost). Alternatively, you can just chill on one of the many beaches, relax at the guesthouse, or check out the shops in the village. (Dinner included)
Day: 3 | Location: TOFINO TO VICTORIA
We’ll head back across the island today, and then down the east coast, passing through Ladysmith, birthplace of “Pammie” Anderson, and Chemainus with its giant murals. We’ll spend the night in the lovely provincial capital of Victoria. Enjoy a night out on the town!
Day: 4 | Location: VICTORIA TO VANCOUVER
Spend the day checking out the inner harbour and city sights, including the Empress Hotel, Parliament Buildings, Royal BC Museum and the waterfront before cruising back to Vancouver and the mainland on another scenic ferry ride in the evening.
Day: 5 | Location: VANCOUVER TO WHISTLER
Today we head north along the Sea to Sky highway, stopping to check out an impressive waterfall, jagged mountain peaks, sparkling glaciers, and for lunch at a peaceful lake. We’ll arrive in Whistler in the afternoon with time for relaxing, swimming in the nearby lake, or exploring the village. Enjoy an included dinner and then rip it up in the bars and nightclubs! (Dinner included)
Day: 6 | Location: WHISTLER TO VANCOUVER
We don’t leave until the afternoon today, so get your thrill on by zip lining, bungee jumping or downhill mountain biking, go for a hike up Whistler Mountain, or relax in one of the beautiful parks. The day is yours to enjoy as you please! When we do leave, we'll stop to check out another picturesque waterfall and the old mining centre at Britannia Beach before returning to Vancouver in the evening.
Day: 7 | Location: VANCOUVER TO SHUSWAP LAKE
Leaving the city behind, we travel east through the Fraser Valley, stopping for a short walk in a west coast rainforest to check out Bridal Veil Falls, and for lunch at an idyllic lake. We’ll then pass through the Coastal Mountains and into the much drier interior of British Columbia. The night is spent at Scotch Creek in the Shuswap, a summer recreational region. (Dinner included)
Day: 8 | Location: SHUSWAP LAKE TO BANFF
We cross into the province of Alberta and will be in four National Parks today, including Canada’s oldest and most famous – Banff! The Rocky Mountains await us, as does Emerald Lake, the first of many aqua blue glacier lakes we’ll see. We’ll settle for the night in the historic town of Banff, in the heart of the Rockies. (Dinner included)
Day: 9 | Location: BANFF TO JASPER
Today, we’ll soak up the awe inspiring scenery along the Icefields Parkway – Lake Louise, jagged mountain peaks, raging rivers, the Columbia Icefields, waterfalls, wildlife and more. The Jasper townsite is Banff’s little cousin, but Jasper National Park is the definition of great Canadian wilderness! Enjoy a campfire and look for the Northern Lights
Day: 10 | Location: JASPER TO BANFF
It’s another day of jaw dropping vistas, and scenic hikes as we make our way back to Banff. Highlights include Parker Ridge (seasonal), Peyto Lake and Moraine Lake (seasonal). Tonight we explore the great nightlife in the pubs, bar and clubs of Banff! (Dinner included)
Day: 11 | Location: FREE DAY IN BANFF
Take an included tour of the sites in the Banff area, hike a local mountain, or for an optional extra cost, go whitewater rafting, horse riding or mountain biking.
Day: 12 | Location: BANFF TO KELOWNA
We leave the Rockies today, but not without first stopping to visit Takakkaw Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Canada (seasonal). Then it’s on to the Okanagan Valley for wine tasting, sandy beaches on crystal clear lakes, and lots of fun in the sun. Rock out in Kelowna tonight - it’s a university city with plenty of bars and nightclubs!
Day: 13 | Location: KELOWNA TO VANCOUVER
Today we climb over high mountain passes and through the beautiful grasslands of the Nicola Valley before returning to the coast. Pump yourself up because once we hit Abbotsford, it’s time for tandem skydiving from up to 14,000 feet (optional extra cost)! Then it’s back to Vancouver and time to say goodbye to your new friends.
Day: 14 | Location: TORONTO TO KINGSTON
Our adventure begins early with a pick-up at your hostel and after a friendly welcome from your Moose driver, we head down the Trans-Canada Highway towards Kingston. Our first stop is at the Big Apple (where they have made over 3 million apples pies) then on to Sandbanks Provincial Park where you will see immense sand dunes. From here we travel to the mystical Lake on the Mountain and on to Kingston--the original capital of Upper Canada. We take a tour of Old Fort Henry later this afternoon and then have a free evening in this university town!
Day: 15 | Location: KINGSTON TO MONTREAL
This morning we start towards Montreal, stopping for a great boat cruise in the Thousand Islands resort area. This region has been known for smuggling between the US and Canada since the Prohibition days. We'll continue our drive to Montreal, the city of festivals. Tonight we have a free evening to explore the cafes, bars and restaurants in the largest french speaking city outside of Europe.
Day: 16 | Location: MONTREAL TO QUEBEC CITY
Today we travel to Quebec City. Along the route we visit Mauricie Park and Montmorency Falls—a spectacular waterfall that is actually higher than Niagara Falls! From here we continue to Quebec City—the largest walled city in North America. You have free time to stroll along the cobblestone streets and enjoy outdoor cafes, street musicians, local art and best of all—the fine food!
Day: 17 | Location: QUEBEC CITY TO TADOUSSAC
We depart at 9:00 am today, travelling along a spectacular highway that borders the St Lawrence Seaway. En-route we stop at St. Anne de Beaupre Cathedral where thousands of pilgrims come annually to witness miracles. We arrive at Tadoussac around 1:00 so you have an opportunity to experience some of the best whale watching in North America (extra cost). We highly recommend it! That night we have a group dinner at the hostel (included).
Day: 18 | Location: TADOUSSAC TO MONTREAL
We leave Tadoussac early in the morning and start our journey back to Montreal. We stop for lunch along the way in a quaint Quebecois village arriving back in the city in the afternoon. Tonight we recommend you explore the outdoor cafes and bars in the Latin Quarter and experience some true "joie de vivres"!
Day: 19 | Location: MONTREAL TO MONT TREMBLANT
It is an 11:00 am start today as we drive through the beautiful Laurentian Hills to the region of Mont Tremblant. We arrive around mid-day with plenty of time to do some canoeing, hiking, cycling or shopping. You can ride a gondola up the mountain or try out a real luge ride! There is also a first class spa located nearby if you want to soak in hot tubs and view the natural surroundings. This evening, we have a group dinner at the hostel (included).
Day: 20 | Location: MONT TREMBLANT TO OTTAWA
Today we begin our tour through more spectacular countryside towards Ottawa—the capital of Canada. Along the way we stop at Omega Park where you can see bears, buffalo, wapiti, deer, wolves, boars and of course MOOSE—so keep your camera handy! We arrive around 3:00 pm and after check-in we take a walking tour of the city. Afterwards we head out for a few drinks and dinner (extra cost) to Ye Aulde Dubliner—Irish style!
Day: 21 | Location: OTTAWA TO FORT COULONGE
The bus leaves Ottawa in the afternoon so you have time to explore the city on your own or join the tour guide as we head over Victoria Island for an Aboriginal experience (extra fee). Our route to Fort Coulonge is a beautiful drive along the river and we arrive at Esprit lodge in the early evening. Dinner tonight is a barbeque feast of salmon and/or steak (included) and a vegetarian option is also available. If you choose to raft the next day--and we recommend it--you are in good hands- since the Esprit team was voted one of top rafting companies in the world by National Geographic!
Day: 22 | Location: FORT COULONGE
If you are rafting, today is an early start at 7:30 am. We take a short ride to the departure point and spend the day on the river—rafting or riverboarding. If you decide to stay at the lodge you can swim, canoe, hike or go mountain bike riding. At the end of the day, we come back to the lodge and settle down to another great meal and relax on the patio with a cold beverage.
Day: 23 | Location: FORT COULONGE TO ALGONQUIN PARK
We start at 9:00 am today with a short drive to the Moose Base Camp. After check-in we start to explore Algonquin Park--home to over 10,000 moose, 2,000 black bears, beavers, wolves and many more animals. Today is spent doing outdoor activities-- swimming in a peaceful lake, a short hike in the woods and a trip to the local visitors center. Tonight we enjoy an outdoor barbeque around the campfire where you can try to hear the wolves howling in the distance!
Day: 24 | Location: MADAWASKA BASE CAMP TO TORONTO
This morning we have an early morning breakfast and head out for a beautiful canoe ride to Moore's Falls. After lunch we head to Toronto passing through Algonquin Park so you have more wildlife viewing opportunities. We stop for a short hike at Ragged Falls where we can take a refreshing shower. From here we continue to the Dorset Fire Tower for a spectacular view of the surrounding wilderness. The last leg of our journey takes us to Toronto—we arrive around 6:00 pm and drop you off at your accommodation. Remember we have a wrap up party starting at 8:00 pm on the outdoor patio of Global Village Backpackers—so don’t miss out!

The Full Mountie Pass does not include transportation between Toronto or Vancouver. The pass can be started in either city. Please note there is a mandatory local payment of $125 in Vancouver and $115 in Toronto. These payments covers taxes, fuel surcharges, some meals and activities. The west local payment must be made in person at the Moose Travel Network office in Vancouver (1022 Granville Street) on any date prior to departing on the west portion. The east local payment must be made in person at the Moose office in Toronto (460 King Street West) on any date prior to departing on the east portion.
