The Mohawk excursion is Moose Network's best value tour in eastern Canada and offers an excellent opportunity to explore the provinces of Ontario and Quebec! Travel over 3,000 kms visitng Kingston, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City--the only walled city in North America--as well as Tadoussac-famous for fijords, sand dunes and whale watching. This tour will let you see more of Canada than most Canadians—don't miss out!

Day: 1 | Location: Toronto - Kingston
 

Our adventure begins early with a pick-up at your hostel and after a friendly welcome from your Moose driver, we head down the Trans-Canada Highway toward Kingston. Our first stop is at the Big Apple (where they have made over 3 million apples pies) then on to Sandbanks Provincial Park where you will see immense sand dunes by Lake Ontario. From here we travel to the mystical Lake on the Mountain and on to Kingston--the original capital of Upper Canada. We take a tour of Old Fort Henry later this afternoon and then have a free evening in this university town!

Day: 2 | Location: Kingston - Montreal
 

This morning we start towards Montreal, stopping for a boat cruise in the Thousand Islands resort area. This region has been known for smuggling between the US and Canada since the Prohibition days. We'll continue our drive to Montreal, the city of festivals. Tonight we have a free evening to explore the cafes, bars and restaurants in the largest french speaking city outside of Europe.

Day: 4 | Location: Montreal - Tadousac
 

Today we travel along a spectacular highway that borders the St Lawrence Seaway. En-route we stop at St. Anne de Beaupre Cathedral where thousands of pilgrims come annually to witness miracles. We arrive at Tadoussa where you have an opportunity to experience some of the best whale watching in North America (extra cost). We highly recommend it! That night we have a group dinner at the hostel (included).

Day: 5 | Location: Tadousac - Quebec City
 

Today we travel the route to Quebec City and visiting Montmorency Falls—a spectacular waterfall that is actually higher than Niagara Falls! From here we continue to Quebec City—the largest walled city in North America. You have free time to stroll along the cobblestone streets and enjoy outdoor cafes, street musicians, local art and best of all—the fine food!

Day: 7 | Location: Quebec City - Mont Tremblant
 

It is an 11:00 am start today as we drive through the beautiful Laurentian Hills to the region of Mont Tremblant. We arrive around mid-day with plenty of time to do some canoeing, hiking, cycling or shopping. You can ride a gondola up the mountain or try out a real luge ride! There is also a first class spa located nearby if you want to soak in hot tubs and view the natural surroundings. This evening, we have a group dinner at the hostel (included).

Day: 8 | Location: Mont Tremblant - Ottawa
 

Today we begin our tour through more spectacular countryside towards Ottawa—the capital of Canada. Along the way we stop at Omega Park where you can see bears, buffalo, wapiti, deer, wolves, boars and of course MOOSE—so keep your camera handy! We arrive around 3:00 pm and after check-in we take a walking tour of the city. Afterwards we head out for a few drinks and dinner (extra cost) to Ye Aulde Dubliner—Irish style!

Day: 9 | Location: Ottawa - Fort Coulonge
 

The bus leaves Ottawa in the afternoon so you have time to explore the city on your own. Our route to Fort Coulonge is a beautiful drive along the river and we arrive at Esprit lodge in the early evening. Dinner tonight is a barbeque feast of salmon and/or steak (included) and a vegetarian option is also available. If you choose to raft the next day--and we recommend it--you are in good hands- since the Esprit team was voted one of top rafting companies in the world by National Geographic!

Day: 10 | Location: Fort Coulonge
 

If you are rafting, today is an early start at 7:30 am. We take a short ride to the departure point and spend the day on the river—rafting or riverboarding. If you decide to stay at the lodge you can swim, canoe, hike or go mountain bike riding. At the end of the day, we come back to the lodge and settle down to another great meal and relax on the patio with a cold beverage.

Day: 11 | Location: Fort Coulonge - Algonquin Park
 

We start at 10:00 am today with a short drive to the Moose Base Camp. After check-in we start to explore Algonquin Park--home to over 10,000 moose, 2,000 black bears, beavers, wolves and many more animals. Tonight is a barbeque meals and evening by the campfire (weather permitting).

Day: 12 | Location: Algonquin Park - Toronto
 

This morning we have an early morning breakfast and head out for a beautiful canoe ride to Moore's Falls. After lunch we head to Toronto passing through Algonquin Park so you have more wildlife viewing opportunities. We stop for a short hike at Ragged Falls where we can take a refreshing shower. From here we continue to the Dorset Fire Tower for a spectacular view of the surrounding wilderness. The last leg of our journey takes us to Toronto—we arrive around 6:00 pm and drop you off at your accommodation. Remember we have a wrap up party starting at 8:00 pm on the outdoor patio of Global Village Backpackers—so don’t miss out!

Day: 13 | Location: Toronto - Niagara Falls
 

After doing our pick-ups at hostels in the city, we depart Toronto and head towards Niagara Falls. We will stop along the way for a tour of an award winning winery where you can have a free sample of their product. From here we continue to the quaint village of Niagara on the Lake and then on to the falls. We return to Toronto around 6:00 pm.
