Why Rent a Campervan?
Campervans offer the best of both worlds - the freedom to go where you want, when you want, whether you’re in the heart of a medieval city or tucked away in a campground in the Swiss Alps.
What are Campervans like?
Campervans offer room to relax and dine in the back during the day and then easily convert to sleeping quarters at night. They are compact, easy to drive and most importantly, good value.
Where can I stay overnight?
In addition to campgrounds throughout Europe, you can park almost anywhere although you do need to check local parking ordinances and sign to make sure. Otherwise, you may get a ticket.
Campervan Features
Depending on the campervan you rent, they come loaded with features like air conditioning, CD player (or Ipod attachments), GPS (extra fee), Tables, chairs, bedding, campground guides, gas cookers, sink, power supply, cooking utensils, etc.
How old must I be?
The minimum age to rent a campervan is 21 years old. Additional fees or higher security bonds may apply for those aged 21-24.
Where is Lille, France?
Lille can be easily reached by train or plane. By train, Lille, is 50-60 minutes from Paris airports, 90 minutes from London St Pancreas station and 40 minutes from Brussels. By plane, Lille-Lesquin airport runs to/from 70 destinations including European low cost airlines. Free airport or train station pickup is offered to the Lille campervan depot.
How do I get from London to mainland Europe?
It's easy. You can drive through the chunnel between England and France, or you can take a ferry to France, Ireland or the Netherlands.
Rail Pass or Campervan Rental?
Much of this decision is a personal one. Each has its benefits. The price of the campervan includes accommodation and transportation. With a Rail Pass you need to pay for hostels but not gas. When you add it all up, the overall cost to rent a campervan versus travel by rail pass is comparable.
Which Side of the Road?
In England, Scotland and Wales, you will be on the left side of the road, most other countries will be similar to the US and Canada.
Are they Safe to Drive?
Yup. Since they are small vans/mini-van type vehicles converted to campers, they are easy to drive, unlike large motorhomes.
