Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a wonderful and interesting city that entices every traveler with more than just its indulgent drug laws and liberal, carefree society.
Its splendid canals, bridges and architecture envelop the city with charm and lend to its rich artistic history and culture. Its bars, cafés, galleries and numerous forms of entertainment also make this one of the best party towns.
With a relatively small urban base it is easily discovered, especially if you rent a bike and take advantage of the well maintained bike paths to the outskirts of the city. Most attractions, museums and hotspots are within walking distance of Centraal Station.
Amsterdam is about 300 miles north of Paris, 365 miles west of Berlin, 125 miles north of Brussels and 45 miles north of Rotterdam.
Amsterdam is a great place to walk or rent a bike to get around and see the sights.
The tourist info center (VVV) is located at Stationsplein 10 (9-5 daily), platform 2 of Centraal Station and Leidseplein 1.
