Getting Around Athens
Three metro lines dissect the city and provide access to most major attractions. Suburban and trolley buses run every 15 minutes. Tickets are 0.80 and must be purchased from a kiosk before boarding the bus. A three-line tram system connects the city center with the southern coastal area of Athens, running 24hrs on weekends. Tickets cost 0.80. The tram, bus and metro system operates daily from 5:30am to midnight. Day passes (3) and week passes (10) allow unlimited use. A ticket for Athens Sightseeing Public Bus Line 400 (5, valid for 24 hours) allows unlimited travel along a 90-minute route that stops at all major attractions, and is scheduled every half-hour from 9am to 6pm.
