The Alcatraz Backpacker Hostel is centrally located in the middle of Berlin's trendy district Prenzlauer Berg in former East Berlin.

Not far away from our hostel was the Wall, dividing Berlin into East and West. Now, only the “Mauerpark” commemorates this period of history. Today, Prenzlauer Berg is a vibrant district full of life where both residents and tourists stroll through its many shops, clubs, cafes, bars, nightclubs and restaurants.

Whether you are travelling by yourself, as a couple, with a bunch of friends or as a larger group: the Alcatraz Backpacker Hostel offers a friendly and cozy atmosphere for its international guests. The house was colourfully decorated by local graffiti artists and is a popular photo opportunity both for passers-by and our guests alike.

In our typical Berlin building we offer a cheap and individually styled accommodation with numerous complimentary amenities. Among other things, you have a kitchen for communal use, lockable cabinets in the dorms, PC's for surfing the internet (also wifi), table football and much more absolutely free of charge. Best conditions to spend a few nice days on a low-budget in Berlin!

From Tegel Airport:
take Bus "TXL" to "Beusselstraße", then change to Metro-line "S41" and exit at "Schönhauser Allee". Walk down the "Schönhauser Allee" to the left, you'lll find the hostel after about 500 metres on the right side of the street.

From Schoenefeld Airport:
catch the airport express trains "RB 14" or "RE 7" to "Alexanderplatz", change to underground line 2 ("U2") and exit at "Eberswalder Straße". Walk onto the "Schönhauser Allee" in the direction of the train, you'll find the hostel after about 300 metres on the left side of the street.

From the rail-station ("Hauptbahnhof"):
catch the Bus "245" to "Nordbahnhof", change here to the tram "M10" and exit at "Eberswalder Straße". Walk down the "Schönhauser Allee" to the left, you'll find the hostel after about 400 metres on the left side of the street.
