How to get around, a short intro

Strasse means street. S-bahn is a city train, part of the public transport in Berlin, marked by a white S on a green circle, runs mainly overground, and usually stops running between 1am and 4am during weekdays, runs every 30 minutes on weekends. U-Bahn is the underground or metro, or tube or whatever. also part of the public transport, marked by a white U on a blue square, runs mainly underground and usually stops between 1am and 4am, and is substituted during that time by night buses.

How to get to the hostel

The Hostel is near S-Bahn-station Friedrichstrasse and U-Bahn-station Oranienburger Tor

From S-Bahn-station Friedrichstrasse
Get off here and exit onto friedrichstrasse and walk north. after 150m you should cross the River Spree. After the bridge take your first right into Ziegelstrasse, then first left into Kalkscheunenstrasse. we are on the right hand side in number 4-5.

From the main train-station Hauptbahnhof (Lehrter Stadtbahnhof on older maps)
Simply take any S-bahn direction east, go one stop to Friedrichstrasse and follow the directions above

From train-station Zoologischer Garten - Zoo station
Simply take any S-bahn direction east, go four stops to Friedrichstrasse and follow the directions above

From train-station Ostbahnhof
Take any s-bahn direction west four stops to Friedrichstrasse, and see above

From airport Schonefeld
Take the S-bahn number S9 to Friedrichstrasse, then see above

From airport Tegel
Take the bus number 128 to U-bahn Kurt-Schumacher-Platz, then get on the U6 direction Alt-Mariendorf, get off at oranienburger tor, exit the station in driving direction and walk down Friedrichstrasse, take the first left into Johannisstrasse, the next right into Kalkscheunenstrasse, we are on the left hand side number 4-5.

From airport Tempelhof
Take the U-Bahn number U6 direction Alt-Tegel from station and get off Oranienburger Tor. exit the station opposite driving direction and walk down Friedrichstrasse, take the first left into Johannisstrasse, the next right into Kalkscheunenstrasse, we are on the left hand side number 4-5.

From the central bus station ZOB
Walk north to get to the U-Bahn station Kaiserdamm, take U-Bahn number U2 to Zoo-station and follow the directions above.

Arriving with loads of luggage
If you want to avoid walking, you have to go to U-Bahn Oranienburger Tor, which is the closest station to the hostel.

Your train ticket or Eurail ticket is also valid for the S-Bahn (city train), but not the U-Bahn (Underground). If you need further information, please let us know. For groups and on request we can also manage Airport Pickup or Luggage Transfer.
