12 years ago, aided with a powerful wind in our sails, we set off until we dropped our anchor directly in the middle of this capital city. On board, we have everything to quench a traveler´s desire for pleasure and curiosity: cozy cabins and sleeping quarters, clean bathrooms, a fully-equipped galley for self-catering and of course a spacious main deck where hard-working sailors prepare a rustic breakfast-fare and where one can easily meet fellow passengers or keep contact with those landlovers at home while listening unadjusted music. When the sun shines upon us, we recommend relaxing in our stern-side deck or our board pub in the bow during unexpected stormy skies.

You could always set off into your own sea-faring adventure: in Friedrichshain´s neighbourhood scene the Odyssee offers the ideal starting point to discover the lighthouses of Berlin: great culture and phenomenal nightlife! Our friendly crew at the command bridge is available night and day and always equipped with compass and treasure map to inform you about manoeuvres, weather and swell and to give you great ideas for your very own expedition. Our hostel is located in "Friedrichshain" - in the middle of Berlin and directly in the hip & lively neighbourhood around Boxhagener Platz! Even during the day it is exciting: Extravagant galleries open their doors and secondhand stores, offbeat shops selling unusual items and small boutiques invite you to shop. On sundays there is colourful flea market, surrounded by plenty of cafes, bistros & restaurants to suit all tastes & budgets! The nightlife is in walking distance as well – you can start in one of the numerous pubs & bars before going to party until dawn in one of the clubs nearby (Berghain, Watergate, Astra). The O2 Arena is just around the corner and the famous Berlin districts of Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg & Mitte are just a short tramride away. Berlin's sights can be reached easily - you can walk to the river Spree to beachbars and the East Side Gallery (Wall) and in just a few minutes by public transport you can reach Alexanderplatz to see the famous TV-tower, the Brandenburg Gate or visit some of the sights on Museum Island.

by train:
from HAUPTBAHNHOF: take any S-Bahn eastbound to ALEXANDERPLATZ then change to the underground (U-bahn) line U5. Take the U5 four stops to FRANKFURTER TOR. Exit the station onto Warschauer Strasse and walk until you reach Grünberger Strasse. Turn right and we're at No. 23 on the righthand side.

Alternatively, take any S-Bahn eastbound to OSTBAHNHOF. At the front of the station, catch Bus 240 in the direction "Storkower Str". Get off the bus at GRÜNBERGER STRASSE (the 4th stop). Then cross the street to get to the hostel.

by plane:
from SCHÖNEFELD AIRPORT: take the S-Bahn S9 to FRANKFURTER ALLEE (8 stops) then change to the U-bahn U5 (direction Alexanderplatz) to FRANKFURTER TOR (2 stops). Exit the station onto Warschauer Strasse and walk until you reach Grünberger Strasse. Turn right and we're at No. 23 on the righthand side.

If you arrive at the airport and the S-Bahn is not running, take the RE14 train to ALEXANDERPLATZ. Change to the U5 and travel four stops to FRANKFURTER TOR. Exit the station onto Warschauer Strasse and walk until you reach Grünberger Strasse. Turn right and we're at No. 23 on the righthand side.

from TEGEL AIRPORT: the TXL Express Bus takes you to ALEXANDERPLATZ. From there U5 four stops to FRANKFURTER TOR. Exit the station onto Warschauer Strasse and walk until you reach Grünberger Strasse. Turn right and we're at No. 23 on the righthand side.
