Youth Rail Passes

berlin-station-night.jpg

Great news for those of you wishing to take that dream Rail Europe trip this year. If you are under 26 years of age on the first date of travel (not when you purchase the pass), then you can get big discounts on over 30 rail passes. And point-to-point tickets too! Of course nothing is free in life which means you'll have to travel 2nd class but hey, "the experience" is what traveling is all about.

To get an idea of savings, Bakpak compared the youth price of 5 very popular passes with the 1st class adult rate or 2nd class rate, if available. We also chose the most days of travel and countries for each comparison. Here's what we found:

#1 Eurail Global Pass Flexi
15 days of travel in 2 months and 21 countries
Adult 1st class costs $1,110
Youth pass costs $722

A whopping savings of $388!

#2 Eurail Select Pass
