From the Airport

Public bus 19/20 to Waikiki, $2 (note passengers are not allowed backpacks with metal frames or bags larger than 18x24x12); Shuttle $9+ (cheapest/quickest option); Taxi $35-40; for other islands, hostels generally offer free pickup or cheap shuttle.

Getting Around

Public transport The Bus (Oahu, 808-848-5555) operates from Waikiki to many popular attractions, beaches and scenic locations; $2 w/ free transfers, $20 4-day unlimited pass (outside Oahu, public transport is limited and unreliable). InterIsland Travel Aloha Airlines (808-484-1111); Hawaiian Airlines (800-367-5320). Hostel Tours/Transport many hostels offer free or cheap tours of their respective islands’ attractions and/or airport transfers.
