Welcome to the United States. It’s a huge place to explore so we’ve put together a selection of some “off--the-beaten-path” destinations. Whether you’re looking for a nature experience in one of the many breathtaking national parks or a dose of history and culture, look no further. Best of all, these destinations offer inexpensive hostel, hotel or guesthouse accommodation.

Bozeman, Montana

Bozeman is a small and welcoming college town located in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with access to a variety of outdoor sports year round. Excellent hiking, biking, climbing, river and snow sports. Bozeman is located on I-90, about 85 miles north of Yellowstone National Park.

Tucson, Arizona

Tucson is located in the very Southern part of Arizona, about 60 miles north of the Mexican border and 2 hours south of Phoenix. Tucson offers an excellent mix of climate, art, culture, history and outdoor activities. There is also a good nightlife scene on the University of Arizona campus.

West Yellowstone, Montana

West Yellowstone is one of the main entrances and jumping off points for Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. It is the oldest and largest (mainland) national park in the US. The Park offers wildlife from bison, bull moose and bears to elk and marmots. It’s also Geyser country, “Old Faithful” being the most popular.

Glacier National Park, Montana

The Continental Divide cuts through Glacier National Park, located near the top end of Montana. The park offers an abundance of wildlife including bighorn sheep, black and grizzly bears, wolves and mountain lions as well as numerous small glaciers.

Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Located 2.5 hours west of Denver and 1 hour northwest of Aspen, this charming town, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, is surrounded by stunning mountains, virgin forest and scenic rivers. Activities include hiking, biking, rafting, skiing and wonderfully relaxing hot springs.

Newport, Rhode Is.

Newport, Rhode Island, is one of America’s oldest cities, situated midway between New York City, Boston, and Cape Cod, and is easily reached by public transportation. Newport is a walkable community with a treasure-trove of museums, historic buildings and rocky shoreline – all reminders of the city’s past as a bustling colonial port and a 19th century millionaires’ playground.

Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania

A town named after a person? That's only part of the amazing story of this beautiful, historic Victorian mountain village. Tour a mansion, church and haunted jail; raft the Lehigh River; bike the Gorge; walk Millionaire's Row; hike the Switchback Railroad. Near New York and Philadelphia- a great break between cities. Experience small-town America!
