Knoxville, Tennessee
Knoxville is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and a jumping off point for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s also home to the Volunteers at the University of Tennessee.
Seaside, Oregon
Miles of white sandy beaches, boardwalks and salt water taffy. Seaside is off Coast Highway 101, 1.5 hours from Portland. Check out the National Wild and Scenic Tillamook Head Trail from Seaside to Cannon Beach.
Olympic Nat’l Park, Washington
The peaks, glaciers and rainforests of Olympic National Park are well worth the visit. The main visitor center is just outside the park in Port Angeles.
Salt Lake City, Utah
Just because Salt Lake City is located in Utah, home of the Mormons and 3.5% beer, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Great skiing, private club permits for drinking.
Boulder, Colorado
Nationally known as one of the best American cities to live in, Boulder is a vibrant college town that pulses with youthful energy and basks in a phenomenal location at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.
Austin, Texas
Austin is known as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” boasting over 100 venues offering a nightly range of music from blues to jazz. The happening part of town is 6th Street for nightlife but also check out the University of Texas campus and the capitol complex.
