Famous for its beauty and diverse geographical landscape, visitors to the Vineyard quickly become enchanted by "the land beyond the sea beyond the land." Our hostel provides comfortable accommodation centrally located between the island's Gay Head Clay Cliffs, Menemsha Fishing Village and Oak Bluffs' "Ginger Bread" Cottages.

It is the first purpose built hostel in the USA and is located along a state forest and bike path. We have dormitory and private rooms. Breakfast, bed linens and bath towels are included. Each guest must show a government issued photo ID to check-in. Guests under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization, promoting peace through hostelling since 1909. Non-members will be asked to pay a $3 non-membership fee per night upon check-in. 

The hostel is open from mid May until mid October.

The Hostel is located at 525 Edgartown-West Tisbury Road. If you are using mapquest or google maps use 02568 as our postal code, otherwise our location shows up in a different part of the island. From Vineyard Haven, take State Rd to Old Country Rd and make a left onto Edgartown-West Tisbury. The hostel will be 3 driveways past the fire department on your left. Same directions by bike, except hop on the bike path on Old Country Road and keep an eye out for signs to Hostel.

If you are taking the bus, take Bonanza Bus Boston, New York or Providence to Woods Hole. then hop on the ferry to the Island. From Vineyard Haven take the # 2 or 3 bus to the # 6 bus and ask to be let out at the hostel.
