Surrounded by old-growth redwoods that soar to the sky over 300 feet and just steps from beaches where the sea kisses the shore, the Redwood Hostel is a cozy hideout in the midst of some of California's most spectacular scenery.
Built by Swiss settlers over a century ago, the hostel provides the only lodging available within Redwood National and State Parks. Guests are accommodated in both private and dorm (6-8 beds) rooms with shared bathrooms, and are provided amenities including on-site laundry and free parking.
Stock up on groceries in nearby Klamath or Crescent City, and take advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen to whip up your meals. Dine al fresco on our sunny porch, or take it inside if the weather turns and enjoy the seaside view from our picture windows. At the end of the day, curl up beside our lounge's wood-burning stove with a good book and rest up for your outdoor adventures the next day.
With direct access to the spectacular California Coastal Trail, the hostel offers travelers a wealth of information on the ecology and history of the area. Learn about fern-fringed trails where you might encounter banana slugs, gray whales, and black bears. Cycle the Bikecentennial Coastal Route, or surf, swim, or watch for migrating birds on the Pacific Flyway. Hike through the forest to the Trees of Mystery (where you can see huge, kitchy carvings of folk legends Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox), or drive out to the Fern Canyon, Ladybird Johnson Grove, or Battery Point Lighthouse.
Come stay where woodlands intersect with underbrush and waterways meet wildlife! The Redwoods Hostel is waiting to welcome you!
