Campervan Rental Insurance Options
We like to make things as simple and as easy as possible for you. With regards to insurance, there are two things to consider when renting a campervan in the USA or Canada. Please read the Terms and Conditions of the vehicle you are wanting to rent.
There are two types of insurance for your campervan rental - campervan cover and liability cover. The following are insurance options for Mavericks, Santa Cruz and Big Sur campervans and the Jeep campervan.
Campervan Cover (for damage to the vehicle)
Covers damage to the campervan itself. You are responsible for the full value of any damage caused to the campervan without it. Camper cover cost ranges from $13-24.99/day, depending on pickup location, and lowers your excess from full value to $0 for accidental damage. In Canada, it ranges from $17-22CAD/day.
Liability Insurance
Protects you against 3rd party claims if you injure a person or damage someone else’s property. Basic Statutory limits (State minimum levels) for liability and property damage are included in your campervan daily rate. If your travel insurance does not include liability cover to US$1,000,000, you can purchase Supplementary liability Insurance (SLI) for an additional $13.99/day in the US. This covers third party property and public liability to US$1,000,000. In Canada, $1 Million liability coverage is included in the daily rate.

U.S. and CANADIAN Residents renting
If you are a U.S. or Canadian resident with a valid driver's license from either country and you have automobile insurance that provides full coverage for rental vehicles (including minivans), you may have coverage for our Campervans. Please check with your insurance company prior to pickup of rental vehicle. You will need to decline our CDW and SLI options and you will be responsible for making a claim through your insurance company. Please supply us with your insurance information at the time of Campervan collection.
