Top reasons to travel the USA in the fall

Fall Foliage on the East Coast: In September, on the East Coast of the United States, the color of the leaves begin changing and painting a landscape portrait people travel around the world to see.  Check out Travel Channel's guide to best fall foliage road trips.

Less Crowds: Vegas Lights & Energy and the Southwest's Canyons & Deserts all in 1-2 weeks! Fall is a magical time to make an 1850-mile grand circle through Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona by campervan starting from Las Vegas as peak season has ended and temperatures are mild. Road trip to: Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, on to a few Route 66 towns, Mesa Verde National Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico and back to Las Vegas.  For a faster but just as scenic road trip, visit both the South and North Rims of Grand Canyon National Park, then loop back to Las Vegas via Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.

Mild Temperatures: Utah's Mighty 5: Hiking through Utah’s five national parks, you will witness nature's historical footprint left by years of land and wind erosion. In a 400 mile trip you can visit Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands National Parks, and fall is the perfect time to go to avoid both the harsh desert heat of summer and the chill of winter. San Francisco in the Fall: US News Travel reports that the best time to visit San Francisco is the months of September – November. Fall marks a sweet spot for San Francisco tourism. The weather is often warmer than it is in the summer. Average temperatures lie in the low 70s, and consistently sunny send city dwellers to the beach. Spend a few days in San Francisco, pick up your campervan and head south along the spectacular coastal drive on Highway 1.

Less Fog means better views off HIGHWAY 1: October and early November are the best times to travel Highway 1 because there is less fog to obstruct your views. Renting a campervan is the easiest, budget friendly and most comfortable way to explore what has been designated as the All-American Road-among the nation's most scenic drives. Pick up your campervan in San Francisco or Los Angeles and head out along Highway 1 exploring the national parks, missions, abundance of wildlife and picturesque beauty along the way.

Yosemite in the Fall- Fall Colors, Less Crowds: Autumn in Yosemite, one of the most popular destinations for renters of campervans and RVs, is one of the most peaceful times to visit as the crowds have vanished.  The only down side is the absence of waterfalls, however if you you don’t mind missing the waterfalls, you will certainly appreciate not struggling with the crowds and enjoying the peace and quiet of the park. Yosemite Valley's towering trees start turning colors in the Autumn. It's a great time for strolling or riding bikes around the valley as well as hiking to lakes and having the trails to yourself.  Find out more on Yosemite National Park from the Park service.
