Northeast Explorer - New York to Toronto

This itinerary combines two of the biggest and most popular American and Canadian cities, New York and Toronto, with a nice warm slice of heartland and rolling hills as well as the awesome beauty of Niagara Falls.

Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and have thin-style pizza in the Little Italy neighborhood of New York City. Relish the view from the Art Deco masterpiece of the Empire State Building and then shop until you drop at the fashion stores around Times Square. Put some flowers in your hair and ride through fertile farmland to Woodstock, sight of the 60’s concert of the same name. Feel the immense power and energy of Niagara Falls flow through you- metaphorically, and boast to your friends of your barrel-riding abilities. Find a hockey game in Toronto and then lose your stomach on the way to the top of the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the world.

Suggested Route

Starting Point: New York

Ending Point: Toronto

Time Frame: 7-14 days

There are many interesting stops along this route in addition to Niagara Falls, just 90 minutes south of Toronto. Starting from New York City, take I-87 (NY State Thruway) towards Albany, New York’s capital. Along the way, you can visit Woodstock (exit 19). Once past Albany, the Thruway becomes I-90 which takes you through Syracuse, near Rochester and into Buffalo before reaching Niagara Falls, which borders the US and Canada.
